Bitcoin Pizza Day is celebrated every year on 22 May to mark the first real-world Bitcoin transaction. On this day in 2010, programmer Laszlo Hanyecz famously paid 10,000 BTC for 2 pizzas, making history as the first person to use Bitcoin for a commercial purchase.

Today the event is commemorated worldwide with giveaways and pizza theme celebration.
